Audio Gumbo is a supporter and fan of The Remix on WRFG 89.3 FM, so it was an absolute honor to be asked to provide the soundtrack for the #BrittanyWhitneyTakeover segment from 12-2am.  Co-host Brittany brought me on to share some Audio Gumbo flava and feed her listeners some sonic goodness.  As always with AG, the goal is to expose, entertain and hip y’all to some dope, funky shit.  Listen to the exclusive playlist below and download the full episode of The Remix here!

huh what

Every once in a while, I’ve gotta go into hibernation.  Just get away from the noise, the saturation, the bad vibes.  A cleansing, of sorts.  I’m not quite over my respite but I had to resurface to share this with y’all.

Every Friday someone asks me, “what’s happ’nin’ this weekend??”  This will be the place for you to find out.  If you have an event you’d like to submit to be featured, email me with the subject “Event Submission.”  I’ll feature it, along with other events happening within the same time frame. If it’s particularly dope, I’ll feature a more detailed write-up of your event.

(Right now, most events featured will be in Atlanta, since that’s my base.  I’m open to events country and world-wide though!)

A3C Vol 4

What better time to emerge from my hiatus than with this new joint from blctxt and producer King I Divine?  In the midst of a turbulent sociopolitical time, “The Roots” is a thoughtful narrative reflecting this nation’s unjust timeline.  “I’m a mortal man that wishes he had answers/I’ma have some kids I hope that they stand up/to the man with the gun in his hands/whose agenda is to wipe them off earth cuz he can.”  Over King I Divine’s hypnotic sounds, blctxt’s insightful lyrics can’t help but resonate with folks that understand this struggle.

This song is from the A3C Vol. 4 compilation mix, which dropped today.  The mix is full of dope artists: new ones you need to know and familiar ones you’ve been diggin’ for a minute.  You can stream it here and cop it here.

divine scienze 2 instrumentals

King I Divine is a master of the cool ass beat.  Dropping the instrumental version of Divine ScienZe 2, the producer blesses us with some good vibes and ridin’ music.  Cop the album here and listen below.

If you’re searching for a mellow, laidback groove, this is it.  Producer King I Divine returns with “Fly,” an ethereal trip on the wings of LD Henriquez’s soft, captivating vocals.  Stay tuned for his new album, Cloud 127, which will continue with the vibe of mellifluousness.

I love the intro on this one. Definitely a “feel good weekend” track. I’m really diggin’ ScienZe’s flow. Like the production was crafted especially for him. And King I Divine put his foot in this beat!  Look out for the duo’s collab effort Divine Science, dropping March 13.

Check out the banger below. “We rock the party, we rock the party, party!”

Boog Brown + Stanza “Together” (Prod. by King I Divine)

This new joint comes from Detroit’s Boog Brown and Atlanta’s Stanza.  With production from King I Divine,  this is some real head knockin’ shit right here.  Boog and Stanza make no qualms about laying claims to the mic.  This cut is off the upcoming compilation mixtape Beatz + Lyrics 2 Go Vol. 2.  If this track is any indication of what’s coming in February, expect some heat.
