’90s back!  Senor Kaos has revamped Common’s Resurrection track “Communism,” keeping with the rugged, snatch-ya-shit approach.  Produced by DJ Exit, “Communism 2012” will be featured on Kaos’ new EP, aptly named Mama Said The Sun Rises in The Resurrection, dropping July 3rd.

I recently took some time to check out Ice-T’s directorial debut, Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap.  The documentary features MCs and producers that have influenced and have been influenced by the genre of hip hop.  Going into the film, my expectations were that of a lover of hip hop, someone who enjoys and respects the art.  I expected the artists to regal us with stories of how they were introduced to rap and the role hip hop has played in their own lives.  In that regard, the film did not disappoint.  From Grandmaster Caz of the Cold Crush Brothers to Rakim to Kanye West to MC Lyte, each artist had a stirring anecdote on their induction into hip hop history.

I pretty much love all things Raphael Saadiq, so imagine my utter excitement when I spotted this new joint over at Soul Culture.  Featuring Ledisi and Common??  Gon’ and wrap this one up for me, please.

Produced by Steve Spacek, one of the executive producer’s, Mathieu Schreyer, was thoughtful enough to finally get up off this 2004 unreleased track, which was originally slated for a project that has yet to see the light.  Let’s just pray Schreyer continues to feel generous and leaks a few more. *fingers crossed*
