DJ Rahdu - Follow Me

DJ Rahdu has done it again.  He’s compiled some of the hottest remixes, covers & tribute pieces as a sort of ode to D’Angelo.  While we wait [im]patiently for the full return of the R&B Jesus, this project is a nice stand-in to hold us over in the meantime.

The good people over at BamaLoveSoul have compiled a wonderful mix featuring everyone’s favorite ankh-wearing, incense-burning, unpredictable eclectic Erykah Badu.  With submission from a diverse mix of producers and DJs, Y’all Feel That?: Erykah Badu Remixes, Flips & Covers Pt. 2 is reflective of the Analog Girl’s own  broad range of creativity and unmistakable passion.

Once again we find ourselves curating a mix of a large number of  producer’s love for one amazing artist: Erykah Badu! This mix is more than just a Badu tribute, it’s a testament of her creativity and it’s  influence on so many. We put out the call for Badu remixes, covers etc and received so many it was impossible to include them all in this mix.  The remixes reflect Erykah’s daring and dynamic, unique and always interesting track selections  with a twist. -From BamaLoveSoul

There’s something so dope about a dj’s reworking of an artist’s music.  It’s like listening to the tracks with fresh ears in new light.  This is exactly what DJ Rahdu has done with some of the exotically soulful N’Dambi’s past works.  It’s an unfinished mixtape, so brace yourself for an abrupt end that makes you feen (yes, feen) for more of that revised goodness.

The good folks over at BamaLoveSoul got the drop on a hot, new summertime EP produced by Swedish production team Sum Comfort Food.  Heavy on the horns, the 7-track EP possesses a chill, laid back vibe with some nostalgic ’90s sampling throughout.  Appearances by hip hop artists like Nelson Waters and B.Eure give the EP a nice balance.  Check out a couple of the tracks and the link to download under the cut.
